About This Role

  • Manage asset lifecycle to optimize performance, minimize costs, and support operational efficiency.
  • This role covers Underground, Open Pit, Processing and Non-Processing Infrastructure.
  • We are seeking an experienced Asset Management Manager to oversee the management of mobile asset both in the Open and Underground Mines, Fixed plant and Non-Processing Infrastructure (NPI).
  • Will be responsible for all Regulatory Certification and Statutory compliance for Personnel and Asset on site.

In This Role You Will

  • Lead Mobile, Fixed, Non-Processing Infrastructure (NPI), Engineering and Asset Planning on site.
  • Drive continuous improvement within Asset Management.
  • Create a safety-focused work environment.
  • Investigate asset health.
  • Initiate reliability initiatives.
  • Optimize asset performance.
  • Design asset management strategies and maintenance management.
  • Manage budget and cost control for asset management.
  • Identify relevant risks, embed mitigation measures, and continuously investigate for risks.
  • Foster a climate that is inclusive and where team members feel safe to contribute, collaborate, receive feedback and coaching.
  • Compliance and safety of all maintenance asset.
  • Data analysis and reporting on all asset.
  • Team leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including Operations, Supply Chain, Finance to align asset management strategies with overall business objectives.

Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist

Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):

  • Educational qualifications in, Mechanical Engineering, Asset Management, or other related Engineering fields.

Additional Knowledge

  • Knowledge that has been gained through work practice with asset performance optimization and safety-focused initiatives.
  • Essential soft skills for leadership and support functions.
  • Proficiency in budget management and risk mitigation.
  • Asset Strategy Development.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in asset management specifically in mining and heavy rock industries with a focus on mobile and fixed asset maintenance.

Problem Solving Ability

  • Develop and refine existing systems, and develop new systems, by understanding trends within a single field of knowledge.
  • Recognize the interconnections of data from a flow of real events within a system.
  • Think about alternative means to achieve a goal by forming chains of hypothetical activities.
  • Generate and test hypotheses within a single field of knowledge.
  • Determine the difference between special and systemic cause.

Technical Skills

  • Identify practical application proficiency in asset management strategies, reliability initiatives, and risk mitigation that best supports these activities within the organization.
  • The role also necessitates familiarity with budget management and safety protocols, including the ability to conduct specific activities using appropriate tools and processes to achieve defined business outcomes.

  • Self-awareness: be self-aware, adapt behavior based on context, learn from interactions, seek feedback, and prioritize business needs over personal interests while managing any resulting stress or conflict.
  • Team process: Understand team dynamics and behaviors, resolve conflicts, and foster an inclusive climate for collaboration and feedback.
  • Collaboration: Build strong relationships with stakeholders by understanding, influencing, and negotiating to achieve productive outcomes while balancing positive interactions and task completion.

  • The position is located at the Newmont Ahafo South mine.
