Your Impact
- Lead media relations and external communications within the country, while driving external relations strategies for exploration projects, aligning with authorities and communities, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
As Part Of Our Team, You Will
- Build a media relations strategy, generate press releases, oversee proactive and reactive media, identify interviews and lead briefings.
- Lead the executive speaker’s bureau, identify events, generate speeches, and build briefing documents.
- Develop a content strategy, build videos, photos and oversee the data asset library.
- Lead crisis and issues management, deliver effective communication and mitigation strategies.
- Establish a thought leadership strategy and generate content to support organizational positioning.
- Optimize and deliver a social media strategy, including day-to-day handling of social content.
- Drive local brand execution, deliver consistency with corporate standards.
- Represent the company publicly, including in forums and discussions about exploration projects.
- Provide regular updates to Senior Management on media and external relations strategies.
- Create communication materials related to exploration activities and community engagement.
Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist
Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):
- A degree in Communications, Public Relations, Media, and Journalism preferred.
- Postgraduate studies in Business, Commerce or Corporate Affairs will be advantageous.
- Qualifications in Change Management.
Experience
- At least 10 – 15 years of combined experience in corporate communications and external relations with demonstrated expertise in developing, designing, and implementing strategies for diverse audiences within the extractive industry at a Senior Management level.
- Experience in a global / multi-national firm is strongly preferred.
- Experience with organizational change and business transformation communication preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of people leadership and strategic management experience preferred.

- Outstanding writing and editing skills, with an eye to messaging for a range of internal channels and audiences.

- Proficient in role-related tools and technology, including, but not limited to: Microsoft 365, content management systems, and graphic design, video editing, measurement, file-sharing, and collaboration tools.
