Job Purpose: As the transport lead, you will coordinate and lead the timely execution and delivery processess of orders to customers, ensuring that all orders are accurate and delivered with care.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will include:
- Coordinate with the Outbound and Warehouse team to ensure accurate and timely loading of orders
- Track shipments in real-time and monitor delivery performance to ensure high service levels
- Resolve any transportation- related issues, such as delays, damage, or shortages
- Continuously evaluate and improve transportation processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain relationships with transporters to ensure capacity, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
- Communicate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Stock management team, Delivery Lead and Demand Planner) and external stakeholders (e.g. Customers) to ensure smooth transportation operations such as Transport scheduling and knowing truck loading needs
- Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas for cost reduction.
- Review freight rates and other transportation costs to keep working costs low

Requirements:
Education
- A university degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field from a recognized tertiary institution
- Professional certification in logistics or transport management
Experience:
- 5– 8 years of experience in logistics / transport roles, preferably in FMCG
- Knowledge in SAP
Skills
- Effective operations management
- Transportation cost optimization and efficiency strategy
- Ability to interprete data from transport management systems and GPS tools to improve efficiency
- Proficiency with software tools for scheduling, routing and tracking deliveries
- Vendor management
- Budgeting and cost control
- Negotiation Skills
