Our 100 female-run Trading Hubs put us closer to the farmer than anyone else – allowing us to solve problems of productive inputs, knowledge and markets. About the Job
As our Supply Chain Manager, you’ll be central to Warc’s success. This year alone we’re expecting to move 1,000 trucks and tens of thousands of tons of grain, continuing to multiply in the years ahead.Y ou’ll be in charge of making sure this happens smoothly, efficiently and safely. You’ll work directly with the Head of Business Operations, building partnerships, planning out routes, and managing and monitoring these movements. You’ll need to keep seeking improvements and navigating the
complexities of our highly decentralized model, optimizing the supply chain to minimize costs while ensuring quality and reliability. You’ll manage a team based in communities, have responsibility for inventory inside of silos, warehouses and trading hubs, and oversee a network of both company-owned and third-party trucks. You’ll work together with key internal and external (third-party logistics vendors) business partners, this role requires detail, care and a relentless desire to optimize.

Responsibilities

Carrier Management, Route Planning and Optimization:

  • Develop optimal transportation routes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods to various destinations across the country.
  • Collaborate with carriers and third-party logistics providers to secure transportation capacity, negotiate rates, and maintain strong relationships.

Site Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and track inventory levels at various sites and in various storage forms.
  • Monitor quality levels and enact actions for control of quality.

Loads/Goods Tracking:

  • Monitor and track the movement of goods from warehouses and Trading Hubs in real-time, addressing any likely delays or issues promptly to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Track and provide updates on shipment status for necessary management reporting

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Ensure that all necessary transportation documents, permits, and licenses are in order to facilitate the legal and seamless movement of goods from one point to the other whiles complying with the local rules and regulations.

Risk Management and Performance Monitoring:

  • Identify potential transportation risks to occur and develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions in delivery schedules for Hubs, warehouse and vendor location.
  • Continuously evaluate carrier performance, including on-time delivery, transit times, and quality of service. Take corrective actions as needed.

Communication:

  • Maintain effective communication channels with internal teams, carriers, suppliers, and customers to provide updates on shipment status and address any inquiries.

Cost Management and Improvement Planning:

  • Monitor transportation costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize transportation expenses.
  • Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency enhancement within the logistics function and implement innovative solutions.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience of 5+ years in supply chain, logistics management, transportation operations, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, compliance, and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
