About the role
At Orica, we’re committed to empowering individuals to grow, lead, and make a meaningful impact. As a Senior Site Supervisor – Open Cut based in Ahafo North, you’ll be a key driver of operational excellence, safety, and team leadership.
In this role you will oversees on-site Orica teams and associated equipment in alignment with the service level agreement, corporate policies, and regulatory standards. Ensures the implementation of Orica’s SHES (Safety, Health, Environment, and Security) requirements, and drives full adoption of the CHECKPOINT system and Quality programs.

What you will be doing
Provides analytical/decision support to Sprint Lead on continuous improvement plan for decreasing operationalcosts.
Participates in the short, medium, and long-term planning activities of the site. Meets fixed cost budgets on ayearly basis.
Completes mandatory monthly inventory counts and reconciliations, safety meetings, annual Letter ofAssurance and ensures all actions assigned to the Site are completed required databases.
Audits and inspects site operations to ensure regulatory requirements are met and are performed safely inaccordance company policies.
Ensures mandatory training of all employees is completed and documented.
Manage employee training plans. Documents all training activities, develop, motivate and supervise employeesfor performance to full potential while safely providing customer service.
Ensures that good housekeeping, record keeping, and preventative maintenance programs are in place.
Assists in preparation of fixed cost budgets, capital expenditures, staffing, equipment requirements, and aupdated Resource Model.
Analyses site inventories to minimize product quantities and improve site profitability through stock rotation andmanagement.
Schedules daily activities of employees to meet customer requirements and ensure proper management of siteincluding raw material ordering, and preventative maintenance.
Communicates and develops/implements action plan to address any operational issues with Sprint Lead.
Effectively communicates and manages all outside regulatory agency audits/inspections and implementnecessary action plans as required.
What you will bring
Minimum 8- 12 years experience post professional qualification, including 5 years of direct people managementexperience.
Proven ability to lead a team, including building a collaborative approach in the development of the directionand operations of the workstream.
Proven influencer, able to manage processes across multiple stakeholder groups.
Experience in implementing process improvement initiatives would be desirable.
Demonstrated skills associated with building strong vendor &/or customer relationships
Financial accumen & budgeting experience.
Good understanding of Mining Safety Management System Aspect by always prioritizing Safety Value.
