Job Description
LOCATION: Nalerigu/Sefwi
Job Purpose
The Senior Finance Officer will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, accounting processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance for the facility.
Reports To:
Head of Operations
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management
-
Monitor day-to-day financial operations within the Region, including invoicing and other transactions.

Work closely with the Operations Manager and other departments within the Region.
-
Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company’s actual performance against business strategy.

Liaise with the Operations Manager and Auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances.
-
Oversee Finance Department operations, set goals and objectives, and design frameworks to achieve them within the Region.
-
Manage the preparation of the Regional budget and contribute to the subsidiary’s overall budget process.
-
Conduct reviews and evaluations to identify cost-reduction opportunities within the Region.
-
Present regional financial reports to Management during formal meetings.
-
Track the Region’s financial status and performance to identify areas for improvement.
2. Financial Accounting
-
Implement and effectively monitor system accounts (General Ledger, Fixed Assets Register, Receivables and Payables Accounts, etc.) to ensure accurate balances.
-
Conduct periodic reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
-
Reconcile all receivable and payable accounts monthly.
-
Manage petty cash within the Region.
-
Issue monthly invoices to customers and manage customer balances to prevent overdue debts.

Safeguard all confidential documents and files under lock or password protection.
3. Audit and Compliance
-
Coordinate internal audits of financial statements and processes to ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.

Develop and maintain documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support audits and regulatory compliance.

Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, providing guidance and recommendations for implementation.
4. Risk Management
-
Monitor business and financial risk management policies and procedures to minimise departmental and organisational risks.

Maximise income opportunities where possible and advise company leadership on appropriate insurance coverage for all processes and agreements.
5. Team Leadership and Development
-
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and support for professional growth.

Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Lead by example, demonstrating commitment to the company’s mission, values, and ethical standards.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification
-
HND in Accounting or a First Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or B.Com in any discipline.
-
At least Part II of ICA, ACCA, or CIMA professional qualification is an added advantage.
Experience
-
Minimum of 3–5 years relevant work experience.

Proficient user of financial accounting software (e.g. Oracle).

Strong listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Strong skills in presenting market analysis and projections for informed management decision-making.

Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
