Job Description
Seize this opportunity to join an award-winning communications consultancy. This role is suitable for a fully bilingual (French & English) public relations specialistwith prior experience in the sector in Africa or the Middle East.
The role will support the Head of French Communications and the wider team within the Consultancy in identifying, developing, and fulfilling appropriate PR strategies for clients and to add value to the client/consultancy relationship.
To carry out day-to-day public relations activities for our clients to the highest of standards and in a timely manner, while paying keen attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
As part of his/her core responsibilities, the Senior Account Executivewill need to:
- Deliver accurate written communications in French & English
- Manage Djembe’s internal French-English translation desk
- Pro-actively lead and support client programs and special project requirements of these client accounts
- Play a key role in developing strategic communication plans for clients, in close cooperation with the Account Manager
- Deliver insightful research on a variety of topics and client business that are reflected in the communications strategy
- Utilize knowledge of traditional and digital media, regionally and internationally, to maximize PR opportunities for clients
- Use the full range of media, social media, and digital tools available to devise, review, evaluate and present progress on campaigns and projects, identify gaps and recommend improvements
- Communicate accurately and keeps the team informed on the progress in accordance with agreed processes, ensuring expectations are managed and any issues are escalated in a timely fashion
- Pro‐actively keep up to date with client‐specific media, industry, and digital developments and seeks to apply this knowledge in their work, including pro‐active management of client social media and website content development and updates
- Support Djembe’s media offering with a special focus on French-speaking media
- Manage departmental administration including weekly and monthly reporting in a timely manner, and support the team, ensuring internal processes are followed
Job requirements:
- Ideally 2-5 years prior experience in a Communications/PR role, ideally at a PR Consultancy with client servicing exposure
- University degree ideally in marketing and communications or international relations
- High proficiency in the French & English languages, combined with strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to think strategically and excellent commercial and organization skills
- Ability to juggle multiple and changing priorities
- Innovative and creative way of thinking to fit in with the Djembe work structure
- Interested in regional and international travel
- Problem-solving, proactivity, and ability to make quick decisions under pressure are also key features
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
