Gold Fields Ghana is currently looking to hire a skilled and qualified individual for the role of Section Operator I. This position reports directly to the Section Operator II. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective Supervision of circuits as well as assist maintenance crew in carrying out maintenance works.

About the role:

• Ensure good housekeeping
• Ensure all circuits are free from tripping hazards by cleaning material spills
• Support maintenance team in carrying out maintenance works
• Execute planned work in conjunction with his/her supervisor
• Report any unsafe situation or hazards that are likely to obstruct production.
• Initiate cost saving practices and productivity improvement of specially assigned projects
• Responsible for own safety as well as safety of others.
• Any other tasks assigned by the Section Operator II

About you:

• A minimum of Senior High School Certificate from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar plant operation.
• Must have knowledge of processing plant and tools
• Must have the ability to identify and rectify risks and hazards
• Must have knowledge of repair and maintenance
• Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal, written and listening skills
• Ability to use initiative, take responsibility and manage tasks through to completion
• Organized with an ability to plan and prioritize own workload and able to organize others
• Anticipates, plans and reacts quickly & flexibly to changing circumstances
• Open, honest & reliable
• MINCOM competency certificate
