Job Description
A Four-Star Hotel in the Upper West Region is looking for a Receptionist to support the front desk and perform clerical duties, full-time.
Since our receptionists are the first point of contact for our guests, the ideal candidate needs to be presentable, confident and friendly. Our receptionists’ duties include welcoming and giving advice and information to guests, showing rooms, upselling, generating quotations, answering phones, Whatsapps and emails.
Our receptionists should also be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. This role requires working in shifts.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Include but are not limited to:
- Greet and make guests feel welcome guests as soon as they arrive at Reception
- Direct visitors to the appropriate person, department or area
- Answer all phone calls, emails and Whatsapps
- Ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)
- Provide basic and up-to-date information in-person and via phone/email/Whatsapp
- Order front office supplies and keep inventory of stock
- Update calendars and schedule meetings
- Code room keys, prepare registration cards and arrange airport transfers
- Keep updated records of office expenses and costs
- Manage transactions for guests settling accounts
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing and photocopying
CORE SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- General computer literacy
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. printers, cell phones, POS machines)
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Customer service attitude
EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years’ experience as a receptionist at a large hotel, or similar position
EDUCATION
- High school diploma
- Basic math and computer literacy
- Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be an advantage
- Certification in Office Management is a plus
