Job Description


We are looking for a Quality Control (QC) Manager who would ensure the business achieve all set Quality Control targets and initiatives on all research projects. The QC manager is responsible for delivering optimum quality as far as project execution and related tasks are concerned in a consistent manner. In addition to maintaining consistent quality, he/she helps to ensure compliance on all projects and recommend improvements where necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • QC resource planning, engagement & monitoring
  • Attends all key project/update meetings
  • Budget planning & management – providing costs, checking team’s productivity, chargeability, etc.
  • Manages QC Staff for growth & efficiency – project management, career plan and training, amongst others
  • Quality Evaluation – checking and validating team’s operational activities, errors and making corrections
  • Acts as a catalyst for change and improvement in quality and team’s performance
  • Ensures prudent QC governance to reduce waste and increase efficiency
  • Determines training needs for QC team
  • Establish, implement and monitor QC processes and procedures; pre-field, in-field and post field
  • Maintaining quality standards and ensures compliance across all aspects of the quality assurance process
  • Ensure preparation of QC/SR Monthly issues report, review and approve QC technical reports on all projects
  • Collaborates with F2F & Senior Research teams to ensure projects are delivered according to specifications and timelines
  • Supervises the QC functions/activities on all projects, including QC schedules and records
  • Measures performance and identify any areas of errors, recommending and implementing improvements
  • Collate and submit monthly KPI reports across projects
  • Ensures issues are communicated when identified for prompt resolution
  • Ensures teams adherence to Quality Control & IGQS specifications and standards
  • Ensure the cost effective and efficient running of the QC Department
  • Work together with the Field team to prevent and identify issues on field
  • Launch and manage quality control actions on all fieldwork conducted by Ipsos
  • Manage infield, in office and data forensic QC
  • Support Ops Manager on innovative initiatives, automation, and resilient approach to data collection

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Relevant Completed First Degree from a recognized tertiary institution
  • 3-5years of experience on operational side of market research and Quality Control, preferably in full time managerial positions
  • Good English, both verbal and written
  • Computer proficiency with practical knowledge of Microsoft Suite , Various interview methodologies and techniques – including outdoor, CATI, qualitative
  • Knowledge and expertise in QC and Interviewer’s training
  • 5+ years’ experience working on variety of research projects at field or quality control level
  • 3+ years’ experience at supervisory role
  • Hands on experience with analytical tools, preferably (Excel and SPSS)
  • Knowledge and expertise in all research sampling methods
  • People management and good interpersonal skills
  • Very good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Cost control and budgeting skills
  • Experience in research and specifically in an operations environment
  • Experienced in trends and comparative analysis with various KPI’s
  • Experienced in developing automated or dashboard reports
  • Experienced in costing and budget rationalizing
  • Decisive in nature and has a good commercial acumen
  • Hands on experience in field research methodology
  • Hands on experience in field data quality assurance and process compliance
