Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) is seeking to recruit suitably qualified professionals for the underlisted position: Project Manager

Responsibilities

The applicants, when successful, shall be responsible for the following:

•Manage and coordinate the day-to-day technical activities of the implementing agencies under the project
•Build the capacities of the Project Team in all aspects of implementation and monitoring to ensure and sustain such capacities within the project implementing institutions for effective and efficient project implementation
•Provide leadership and guidance to the PMU in the discussions with external partners on pertinent issues that may arise relating to project implementation activities in accordance with GCF and UNEF policies
•Ensure that the implementation of the project is executed in strict compliance with the conditions of the FAA and PCA while adhering to all relevant policies and guidelines of the GCF and UNEF and the applicable laws of the republic of Ghana.
•Ensure robust coordination and cooperation among implementing entities, implementing entities, implementing agencies and all stakeholders in the implementation of the project while ensuring the realisation of the project reporting requirements

Qualification Required & Experience

•A postgraduate degree in natural resource management, environmental engineering, agriculture or a science in related field
•Must possess, at least 10 years postgraduate post-qualification experience in areas of work related to national and sector policy development and analysis, institutional assessment, capacity building in relation to environmental, natural resources and sustainable development, most preferably in areas related to land restoration, sustainable alternative livelihoods, climate change adaption and sustainable land and water management.
•Must have at least 2 previous professional positions / assignments related to facilitating and coordinating the participation of government-led stakeholders in an externally-funded programme or project in Ghana or elsewhere
•Must have successfully prepared, secured, managed and completed the implementation of, at least 2, funded projects of similar nature and complexity with multi-stakeholder institutions cutting through multiple government organisations, district assemblies, donor agencies and traditional authorities and local communities and with particular emphasis on the middle to the northern belts of Ghana in the past 10 years
•Must possess at least 10 years of working experience within the government sector in Ghana and must have worked through all the ranks up to senior management roles
•Must demonstrate proven extensive experience in preparing, managing and implementing multi-donor support funded interventions in the environment and land restoration sub-sectors in Ghana for at least 15 years
•Must possess demonstrable experience in project management in the environment landscape for at least 10 years in multi-donor funded interventions across multi-stakeholder group and institutions
•Must possess extensive demonstrable experience in people and talent management across all expert fields for maximum output
•Excellent communication skills in written and oral English
•Must possess a good track record of developing winnable technical papers and proposals
•Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the traditional Ghanaian social structure

Salary/Remuneration shall be commensurate with background and experience of the successful applicant
