Job Description
G-PAK Limited is seeking to recruit a Procurement Manager.
Job Purpose
• To provide technical and operational leadership for the achievement of the objectives of the procurement unit of G-PAK.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Formulation, development, execution of policies and procedures to drive a consistent approach towards sourcing, purchasing and tendering activities within the business
• Coordinates all RFI’s RFQ and REPs within the company and ensure all details required are within the guidelines of the company’s compliance framework
• Negotiable with foreign and local vendors to secure advantageous terms
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve the effectiveness of the procurement unit
• Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
• Gathering of market intelligence and information required by the supply management team
• Manages the suppliers performance by reviewing their performance every quarter
• Oversees the development and maintenance of a database on procurement activities
• Collaborates with relevant stakeholders in the procurement of goods, services and works
• Ensures the implementation of performance management policies in the unit
Competencies
• Proven working experience as a Procurement Manager or Head of Procurrement
• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in reading the market
• Talent in negotiations and networking
• Good knowledge of Tally accounting software
• Experience in collecting and analyzing data
• Excellent leadership capabilities
• Strong understanding of procurement in public procurement act
• Excellent knowledge of relevent Public Financial Management Act
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Qualification Required & Experience
• A master’s degree from an accredited tertiary institution in procurement or any related field
• Possess a minimum of 8 – 10 years of business experience in including 5 years in a similar role. An international procurement experience will be an advantage
• Working knowledge of the print industry would be a distinct advantage
• Experience in the implementation of end-to-end procurement strategy and processes
• Possess traits, the likes of being meticulous, analytical, seamless collaborator, convincing negotiator, high emotional quotient in managing various stakeholders expectations
• Membership of a procurement professional body (MCIPS) would be a distinct advantage
