Role Overview

As the Practice Manager at AFG, you will be championing content development at AFG that drive our reputation as a thought leader, reporting to the CEO. You are the right person for this role if you love strategic problem solving, research and knowledge generation. Thinking through questions about economic development, future trends and business growth is something you truly enjoy and find flow in.

Your experience

  • BSc Degree from a leading African or foreign tertiary institution
  • 3-4 years of working experience, with focus on African private sector and gained experience in business development, writing, and reviewing proposals
  • Building storyboards and logic trees to analyze a problem is something you could do all day
  • Experience in managing a team and upward management
  • Excellent written communication skills to develop Powerpoint presentations and short reports with minimal supervision
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to details
  • Strong entrepreneurial skills and “can do” attitude
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, supported by team members

Your responsibilities

Stakeholder management

  • Collaborate with other members of the team to drive regular newsletters sent by AFG to different groups of stakeholders
  • Engagement of partners that are interested in thought leadership cooperation (e.g. for joint reports)
  • Take ownership of the content planning for AFG events that are held to augment the brand of our Firm

Impact monitoring

  • Design and implement a robust impact tracking system for AFG
  • Develop regular reporting on the level of impact achievement of AFG that is shared with internal and external stakeholders

Anchoring of thought leadership development

  • Regularly build thought leadership frameworks that tie into the different service lines of AFG and will be published internally to enhance quality of project delivery as well as externally for marketing purposes
  • Co-write short articles about said frameworks to illustrate and apply them based on real examples
