Job Description
Avalon Pharmacy Ltd, is seeking offers from qualified persons to fulfill the role of a pharmacy assistant as described in this solicitation.
CLOSING DATE/TIME: 17th October, 2021 at 5:00 pm.
JOB I.D: APL001
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Check for expired medications and shop products.
ii. Notify the pharmacist when stock is low
iii. Take in and handle out prescriptions
iv. Dispense prescriptions
v. Use store’s computer systems to generate label and stock lists
vi. Help in maintaining reasonable dispensary stock levels
vii. Order items for use within and outside the shop
viii. Receive, load and unload incoming goods from manufacturers, wholesalers and elsewhere
ix. Sell over the counter medicines and shop products.
x. Answer queries on the availability and supply of medicines and shop products.
xi. Respond to face to face and telephone enquiries of a routine nature from members of the public, patients, their representatives.
xii. Pre-pack, assemble and label medicines and shop products
xiii. Create and maintain patient profiles as needed.
xiv. Prepare insurance claim forms
xv. Manage the cash register
xvi. Perform cleaning medication storage shelves, bins, refrigerators etc;
xvii. Perform administrative duties as may be assigned by Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
i. Education: WASSCE certificate; Possession of a Pharmacy or medicine counter assistant qualification from a reputable institution. Some form of licensing with a reputable institution would be a plus.
ii. Prior Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible
professional medicine counter assistance work.
iii. Job Knowledge: Must have an in-depth knowledge in areas detailed in this solicitation. Applicant must be willing to work late hours, weekends and holidays on rotation-basis.
iv. Skills and Abilities: Solid experience in planning and organization; Excellent customer care; Attention-to-detail oriented; Must be able to work independently and in a team; Excellent organization skills; Basic computer skills including use of windows operating systems.
v. Location: Must live around Madina, Ashaley-Botwe, East Legon, Adenta and it’s environs.

iv. All relevant educational certificates.
