The Role Responsibilities

Management of the CFO’s office

  • Provide support to Chief Financial Officer in the co-ordination of departmental activities by ensuring that the CFO (and other Finance Managers) meets his objectives and serves internal and external customers in an efficient and timely manner.  This includes ensuring, on a day-to-day basis, that matters that require follow up are acted on by the CFO (and other Finance Managers)
  • Handle all correspondence and communication including mails, letters, and memos and respond to routine mails, handling telephone and stakeholder enquiries related to the CFO (and other Finance Managers), while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Word-process all correspondence for the CFO (and other Finance Managers)
  • Co-ordinate meetings and conference calls for the CFO (and other Finance Managers), which includes correspondence to relevant parties, booking meetings, etc while ensuring that all relevant meeting information and materials are distributed in good time

Departmental administration

  • Manage departmental meeting process including timely circulation of agenda, minutes etc
  • Co-ordinate learning activities for Finance Department including record keeping on training; follow-up on staff to complete e-Learning modules and drive uptake on diSCover learning platform
  • Co-ordinate Finance department’s “My Voice” survey monitoring and team building activities
  • Co-ordinate Finance Employee Volunteering (EV) and related activities
  • Document and track leave plans for the Department
  • Monitor stationery stock and ensure supplies are available in the right quantity
  • Maintain efficient and effective computerised and manual filing and retrieval systems
  • Arrange all travel, hotel reservation and visa applications for the CFO and Finance staff, as well as any visitors who may be visiting the Department
  • Respond to client/supplier enquiries in a professional manner to project and maintain the Bank’s image

Business support and strategy

  • Coordinate and consolidate key CFO/ Finance presentations (Exco, Board, etc) within stipulated time frame, ensuring quality of content and timeliness of delivery
  • Gather information and produce external market data for CFO and other Finance Managers
  • Support the Finance team to compile all documents required by auditors before and during audit
  • Provide  support to various desks within  Finance  where  circumstances demand support/ input
  • Assist in general Finance Operational Risk Management and Assurance process, including completion and submission of assigned Finance KRIs, KCIs and CSTs
  • Work closely with other departments/units to work on select/ad-hoc projects and reports where Finance input is needed and report to Finance leadership accordingly
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Degree in any discipline (preferably in a numerate social science)
  • Full/partial professional qualification in ICAG, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent programmes will be an added advantage
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, present and communicate clearly and logically both in writing and orally
  • Sound and up-to-date computer knowledge in the relevant packages eg. E-mail (Outlook), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. is required
  • Good memory and an eye for detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at various levels of the Bank
  •  Good administrative skills
  • Good Public relations and interpersonal skills
  • High sense of judgement in handling confidential information regarding the Bank
  • Integrity, proactiveness and initiative as required on various issues
  • Basic understanding of Finance Department activities and workflow
