Job Description


Main Purpose:
Processes orders and oversees cycle of order fulfilment. Responsible for making sure supplies, stock, materials, packages, and/or products are processed through the delivery and/or warehouse system efficiently and safely.

  • Manages day to day business of the operations department while balancing the responsibilities of various business lines
  • Anticipates and tracks operational and tactical risks and providing strategic solutions
  • Secures delivery windows or laycan slots with the authority for all petroleum product imports
  • Responsible for acquiring ullage via throughput agreements with storage terminals for imports.
  • Responsible for acquiring ullage via throughput agreements with storage terminals for imports.
  • Represent the firm at all pre-berth meetings to propagate the interests of the company
  • Coordinates with the Agents and GPHA for prompt vessel clearance and vessel berthing
  • Coordinate all BOST regional transfers and loading within regional depots
  • Ensure all customs declarations for imports are done on ICUMS and duly submitted
  • Oversee stocks and inventory management at all third-party storage terminals
  • Manage all discharge operations through Ghana’s port of entries for petroleum products
  • Oversee and ensure strong HSE culture and performances in transport operations
  • Chair the monthly Local Transport Committee meeting
  • Coordinate and supervise bimonthly inspection of the transport units of the company’s fleet. Verify the safety conditions of the trucks when they arrive at the Terminal.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Legal to review Transport contracts for either renewal or termination of contracts.
  • Responsible for the relationship with carriers tending to obtain a good service and avoid problems. Pursue transport efficiency, improving customer service and avoiding product deficits.
  • Prepare monthly reports regarding the Transport area, including number of units of the company’s fleet and ex-rack, quantity of gallons transported by units of the company’s fleet and ex-rack, separating fuel oil from clean fuel.


Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply and logistics, business administration, or related field that would provide a string background is required
  • Master’s Post graduate degree is preferred
  • 7-10 years’ proven experience in related field including global experience in a leadership role with proven experience in planning/development/strategy at corporate level
  • Ability to effectively interface with management at all levels as well as contacts outside the organization
  • Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations and customer service
  • Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes
  • Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
