We are seeking a driven and diligent MEL Officer/Data Analyst to join our Knowledge Management team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter, eager to tackle challenges and capable of working both independently and under supervision. You should be quick to adapt to changing industry dynamics and evolving corporate needs. Exceptional attention to detail in all areas of work is essential.
Job Description
This full-time position is based in Accra, Ghana. The MEL Officer/Data Analyst will focus on:
• MEL Responsibilities: Implement and manage MEL frameworks to effectively assess the impact of our credit risk guarantees, technical services, and other initiatives.
• BI Responsibilities: Leverage Business Intelligence (BI) tools to manage data, create visualizations, and support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
• M&E Systems: Develop and manage M&E frameworks and systems aligned with our strategic objectives.
• Database Management: Maintain the integrity and accessibility of our operational database.
• Data Analysis: Undertake the collection, analysis, and visualization of data using advanced tools like Excel and Power BI.
• Reporting: Generate comprehensive reports offering insights and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Learning: Document insights and best practices from various initiatives, sharing these with the team and broader stakeholder community.
• Training: Facilitate training sessions on MEL methodologies and tools for staff.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to integrate their feedback into M&E activities.
• Knowledge Management Collaboration: Actively collaborate with the Knowledge Management team to enhance data organization and accessibility.
Skills Required
• Technical MEL Skills: Proficient in designing and utilizing MEL frameworks and impact evaluation methods.
• Data Tools Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel and Power BI; familiarity with Tableau, SQL, Python, and R is beneficial.
• Data Analysis and Communication: Strong analytical capabilities with a knack for creating clear and insightful reports and presentations
Learning and Adaptation
• Knowledge Management: Efficient use of Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Teams) for effective document and knowledge management.
• Lesson Documentation: Competent in documenting and disseminating insights and best practices to enhance organizational learning.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Additional qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
• Experience: At least 2 years in a MEL or data analysis role, preferably within the financial or developmental sectors.
• Technical Proficiency: Essential skills in Power BI and Excel. Additional proficiency in Tableau, SQL, Python, and R is desirable.
• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholder groups.
