Job Description


Key Responsibilities

• To assist with the organisation and delivery of antenatal and post natal care to clients
• To provide counseling to clients on birth preparedness and complication readiness
• Conduct spontaneous vaginal delivery for clients
• Administer controlled drugs, intravenous solutions, antibiotics, and other agents used to treat medical problems according to treatment protocols
• Educate and assist mothers to initiative infants feeding following delivery
• Anticipate and recognise deviations from normal infants deliveries and carry out laid down procedures to safeguard the wellbeing of mothers and babies such as resuscitation of new born assessments. Knowledge on quality improvement and patients safety practices
• Knowledge on safe labour and delivery practices
• Good critical thinking, communication and reporting writing skills
• Ability to remain composed under pressure
• Must be a good team player
• Must exhibits a high level of customer relationship skills
• Good command over the English language both in verbal and written communication

Qualification Required & Experience

• Minimum of a Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Midwifery and in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery council of Ghana
• A minimum of 3 years working experience at the delivery room.
