POSITION/JOB TITLE: MICROFINANCE CO-ORDINATOR

Job Summary

The role involves supervising, coordinating, and managing the activities of Microfinance Officers to ensure effective service delivery, customer satisfaction, and quality growth of the microfinance portfolio.

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve the bank’s microfinance objectives.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to all Microfinance Officers, in alignment with the bank’s goals.
  • Monitor the performance of the microfinance portfolio and ensure proactive actions to arrest default.
  • Oversee the disbursement and recovery of microfinance loans in compliance with the bank’s policies.
  • Conduct regular field visits to assess the activities of microfinance teams and provide on-site support.
  • Develop training programs to enhance the capacity and skills of Microfinance Officers.
  • Collaborate with Microfinance Officers to ensure seamless service delivery to microfinance clients.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to management.
  • Engage with community leaders and stakeholders to promote the bank’s microfinance initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls in all microfinance operations.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • A bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Community Development or a related field.
  • Six (6) years’ experience in microfinance, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
  • Familiarity with rural banking and financial inclusion practices is an added advantage.
  • A second-degree qualification would be an added advantage.

  • Excellent knowledge of microfinance operations, policies, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and portfolio management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
