Job Description

Role & Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems to identify issues.
  2. Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
  3. Repair or replace faulty components, parts, or systems to restore equipment functionality.
  4. Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new mechanical equipment and systems.
  5. Assemble and disassemble machinery, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
  6. Implement maintenance schedules to prevent equipment breakdowns.
  7. Conduct routine inspections and tests to identify potential problems before they escalate.
  8. Lubricate, clean, and adjust equipment components as part of preventive maintenance.
  9. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts replaced.
  10. Collaborate with engineers, other technicians, and relevant departments to solve complex problems.
  11. Assist in training new technicians or team members in equipment maintenance and procedures.
  12. Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues to enhance the team’s overall skills.
  13. Respond to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and production losses.
  14. Conduct testing and quality checks after repairs to verify proper functioning.
  15. Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager.

Requirements

  1. Minimum HND in mechanical engineering or related field.
  2. Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar role preferably in a food manufacturing industry
  3. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and processes. Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  4. Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders, including team members, clients, and project managers.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges and implement effective solutions.
  6. Thorough understanding of safety regulations and practices, with a commitment to ensuring a safe work environment.
  7. Good organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
