The Savannah Fruits Company (SFC) is seeking a Marketing Manager. We are looking for a creative, motivated, and experienced Marketing Manager to join our team! As a Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating all our communications activities and campaigns together with the sustainability team towards our market and clients abroad.

The Savannah Fruits Company is a Ghanaian company focused on sustainable production and export of high quality, traditionally handcrafted shea butter and other African natural products such as virgin coconut oil, black soap, baobab oil etc. The company delivers high quality ingredients to the international edible and cosmetic markets. We work with local cooperatives, empowering Ghanaian women in a sustainable and profitable manner.

 

Responsibilities

 

The Marketing Manager will report to the Managing Director on daily duties and responsibilities and work in tandem to create a strategic plan and implement public relations and marketing processes that are in line with SFC’s long-term strategy and branding. This is a highly creative position that requires assisting in the expansion into new markets abroad by creating a comprehensive media relations strategy seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast, and online media and by reporting on all sustainable aspects and impacts of the business.

 

• Responsible for creating, implementing, and measuring the success of a comprehensive public relations, marketing, and communications program that will enhance the company’s image and position within the marketplace and the general public.

• Facilitate internal and external communications.

• Organization of public relations, marketing, and communications activities and materials including publications, media relations, and so forth.

• Ensure articulation and consistency of communication policy.

• Ensure communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external.

• Responsible for editorial and branding direction, design, production, and distribution of all publications in collaboration with Head of Sustainability and MD.

• Organize content creation

• Manage social media platforms and SFC website updates.

• Integrate marketing and communication with our traceability tool.

• Oversee and provide approval on the appearance of print and electronic materials such as annual reports, sustainability reports, product sheets, brochures, etc.

• Lead projects as assigned, such as cause-related marketing and special events.

• Responsible for the achievement of public relations/marketing/communications mission, goals, and financial objectives. Ensure that evaluation systems are in place related to these goals and objectives and report progress to the Managing Director.

• Develop short and long-term plans and budgets for the public relations/marketing/communications program and its activities, monitor progress, assure adherence, and evaluate performance.

• Recommend short and long-term goals and objectives for public relations to the Managing Director

• Develop, implement, and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the public relations/marketing/communications function.

• Stay informed of developments in the fields of public relations, marketing, communications.

Requirement and desired experience

· A bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, or public relations preferred or 5 years in related field

· Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in marketing, communications, and/or public relations with demonstrated success on foreign markets (EU, US, Asia…)

· Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in the design and execution of marketing (including social media), communications, and public relations

· Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, developing presentations, and negotiating with media

· Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications

· Computer literacy in word processing and database management

· Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams

· Strong oral and written communications skills

· Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and has strong attention to detail

· Ability to work under low supervision in rural areas.

This Marketing Manager position is full-time and is based in Accra with the possibility of traveling to our office in Tamale, or to various processing centers around Ghana, and sometimes in other countries. The salary is competitive depending on experience and performance. We also offer benefits such as a communications stipend, Tier 1& 2 pension contribution & health insurance and paid leave after a probation period of 6 months.

 

· 13th month bonus based on individual performance

· Tier 3 contribution based on company’s performance

· Paid time off

· Travel to remote areas and overnight trips when necessary
