Job Summary

The Manager, Fintech Insights & Commercial Decision Support leads the use of data capabilities/insights (analytics and visualization) to perform business critical analytics, covering all key functions in MobileMoney Limited (MML) and provides usable / actionable insights and recommendations for business innovations / operations / commercial and technological improvements. The role requires to be adept at demand management to gather business demand and accordingly provide BI and Insights. The role works in an agile environment, in a project-based team structure, coordinating with team specialists to respond to business requirements by developing and deploying analytical solutions. Performs other duties as assigned by Head BI & Decision Support.

Job Role

  • Build, develop and maintain data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions and verticals.
  • Develop and maintain an effective segmentation model to support product innovations development, maintain and grow service usage and adoption for all user types.
  • Deliver actionable insights to inform Go-to-market strategies, promotions (Customer Value Management) and channel effectiveness.
  • Analyze market dynamics, consumer trends and competitive activities, providing actionable insights to inform strategic positioning.
  • Gather and prioritize analytics demands from various departments and project manage delivery against demand.
  • Adopt BI & Analytics capability from group and localize to provide effective analytics solutions to the business.
  • Work closely with innovations, technology, and operations teams to drive complex data and trend analysis.
  • Extract data & build dashboards, combining data from multiple sources to turn raw data into actionable insights.
  • Examine, interpret, and report results of analytical initiatives to stakeholders in leadership, technology, commercial, marketing, and product teams in manner that facilitate effective decision making.
  • Provide support to functional teams for web/platform analytics across reporting, maintenance, and integration of data sources.
  • Generate fortnightly, monthly, and quarterly reports to uncover learnings and insights to guide future business improvement processes.
  • Deploy tools, systems and methodologies approved and localized as per requirement.
  • Work collaboratively with other specialists in the BI & Decision Support team for the ETL lifecycle.
  • Apply industry knowledge to interpret data and improve functional performance from both internal and external data sources.
  • Develop and implement quality controls and departmental standards to ensure quality standards, organizational expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with Commercial and Products teams to align insights with strategic priorities. Provide recommendations that improve commercial execution, revenue performance and customer experience.
  • Drive adoption of self-service analytics tools within the Commercial and product teams.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency and integrity of insights and analytics provided.
  • Build a high-performance, collaborative culture within the insights team.
  • Escalate issues that will result in severe time, scope, productivity, and cost or resource impact to Head BI & Decision Support.
  • Communicate results and business impacts of insight initiatives to stakeholders within the business.
  • Manage and provide solutions to escalations that have multiple processes / functions impact on critical path of service delivery, keeping Head BI & Decision Support apprised of the same
  • Report daily to the Head BI & Decision Support relating to progress made within the function and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organization
  • Assist in review of the department’s strategy and roadmap, to ensure its alignment with the changing dynamics of the internal and external ecosystem

Education

  • Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, Finance, Banking or related field
  • Post Graduate degree in similar or related field is an advantage

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ total experience in a similar position
  • Experience in Fintech, banking or Telecom is preferred
  • Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise with a good understanding emerging markets is preferred
  • Experience in data analysis and management, business performance management and BI within the Fintech industry
  • Experience working across global locations/ regions and have a grasp of political, social, infrastructure and integrity challenges

  • Knowledge of modern Big Data platforms and Open-Source solutions to database, data analysis, and data management
  • Deep knowledge and experience in data reporting/visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
