ROLE SUMMARY:
The Internal auditor of the Resort is an independent, objective assurance, and consulting activity designed to add value and improve the resort’s operations. The Internal activity is expected to help the resort accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. Therefore, your work as the Internal Auditor in assisting the Group Internal Auditor achieve this will include but not limited to:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preliminary risk assessment of all assignments on the Audit plan.
- Assist the Group Internal Auditor in conducting reviews of organizational and functional activities and processes.
- Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships and a wide relationship network across business units.
- Have good understanding of the control environment being audited, such as internal financial control and risk management related activities.
- Design audit assignments based on key process and business risks identified and design the audit program in line with risks and key controls to be tested.
- Implement audit field works in compliance with the expected quality standards by following and completing prepared work programs and assess the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management practices and internal controls.
- Provide clear and sufficient audit evidence to support recommendations and audit opinions.
- Check the accuracy of all revenue figures; identify and obtain explanations from respective personnel for reason of variances.
- Check IDS reports for accuracy and unusual transactions.
- Verification of all Food and Beverage discounted / complimentary checks are justified and properly recorded into POS system
- Audit the Cashier transactions for accuracy and ensure the POS details summary reports agree with cash droppings
- Check the authenticity of all FO paid outs/rebates and outlet rebates and verify for accuracy
- Participate in month end closing inventory count
- Establish the root cause of issues identified and impact thereof and recommend changes to business processes that will address the control weaknesses.
- Effectively communicate with the audit team, audit management team and key stakeholders regarding all audit procedures, requirements and outcomes.
- Keep abreast of emerging industry standards, best practices, industry challenges, upcoming legislation, operational requirements and technology changes related to the internal audit environment.
Qualification Required & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ of work experience in an internal audit environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent qualification.
- Professional qualifications – ICA / ACCA.
- Strong analytical skills with Knowledge of financial reporting and data mining tools.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and excellent interpersonal skills (effectively able to work with others in a collaborative manner).
- Strong computer literacy skills, especially Microsoft Office and intermediate Excel formulas (VLOOKUP, Pivot table etc.).
- Ability to pick up responsibilities quickly and work with limited directions.
