Job Description
We are seeking a talented Engineer with expertise in AWS cloud technologies and also detail-oriented, proficient with technologies and hardware to join our team. you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our systems and cloud-based infrastructure to support our business operations and client services.
Duties, Responsibilities and KPIs
Infrastructure Management:
- Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions (AWS).
- Implement best practices for AWS architecture, including cost optimization, security, and performance tuning.
- Manage AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and others as needed.
- Monitor system performance and reliability, proactively identifying and addressing issues.
System Design and Implementation:
- Understanding system administration and how network hardware and technologies work.
- Technical Support: provide technical support to end-users, partners and colleagues, diagnosing and resolving technical problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Automate deployment, configuration, and management processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Security and Compliance:
- Managing the security of computer systems and inter-application information transfers.
- Implement and enforce security best practices and compliance standards, such as ISO27001, PCI DSS, GDPR, etc.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits, addressing any vulnerabilities or risks promptly.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Help develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans
Team Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with DevOps, development, and other teams to support project initiatives and resolve technical challenges.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on AWS cloud technologies and best practices.
Documentation and Training:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems. And network configurations, processes, and procedures.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Infrastructure Availability:
• Percentage of uptime for critical AWS services and applications.
• Target: Maintain AWS infrastructure availability above 99.9% per month.
Security Compliance:
• Number of security vulnerabilities identified and addressed within the AWS environment.
• Percentage of compliance with relevant security standards. (eg 27001)
• Target: Achieve 100% compliance with applicable security standards.
Cost Optimization:
• Cost savings achieved through optimization of AWS resources and services.
• Percentage reduction in AWS infrastructure costs over time.
• Target: Maintain AWS infrastructure costs within budget while maximizing efficiency.
Incident Response Time:
• Average time to detect and respond to AWS infrastructure incidents.
• Mean time to resolve (MTTR) critical incidents affecting AWS services.
• Target: Minimize incident response time and MTTR to ensure minimal impact on operations.
Documentation Quality:
• Completeness and accuracy of documentation for AWS infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Regular updates and improvements made to documentation based on feedback and changes in the environment.
• Target: Maintain high-quality documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure operational readiness.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly work with one or more employees in the operations and IT Department.
- Carry supervisory responsibilities per the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as an Applications/Systems/Networks Engineer or similar role, with a focus on AWS cloud technologies
- Strong understanding of AWS services and infrastructure components, including hands-on experience with AWS CLI and SDKs.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Knowledge of database systems management, enterprise resource planning, and web platform deployment.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (DHCP, DNS, VLAN, Load Balancing, VPN, Routes etc), security principles, and best practices in cloud environments.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) , or equivalent.
- Proven experience in systems (linux) & network support and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and security best practices.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
