Role:
Reporting to the Procument Director, Africa
The Indirect Category Manager will be responsible for developing the category strategy and supervising supplier research for all indirect categories. This role will focus on industrial areas such as logistics, energy, capital expenditure (CapEx), and facility management, as well as corporate services including marketing and trade. The incumbent will also participate in negotiating supply terms in alignment with the purchasing policies set by our Head Office in Barcelona. The objective is to ensure an optimal supply of goods and services to the organization and its plants, meeting the highest standards of time, quality, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the strategy of indirect categories assuring the accomplishment of the objectives in terms of time, quality and costs, aligned with Category Management of indirect spend in Head Office.
- Propose and support the budget for all indirect categories under the procurement scope, ensuring budget efficiencies by cost-controlling processes.
- Carry out the search at an African level of suppliers to generate alternatives to the resent ones in order to decrease total cost and / or improve quality.
- Analyze and select the offers of different suppliers, as well as completing negotiations with them, with the objective of ensuring supply at the best conditions of price, quality and service.
- Coordinate and supervise the approval or rejection of suppliers with the objective of ensuring the implementation of established quality standards
- Analyze and propose the best supply policy for each production center, participating in their pursuit and establish improvement measures to ensure the homogeneity of the process
- Negotiate and supervise the payment conditions for the suppliers to guarantee that they are in line with the company objectives
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to drive cost savings, operational efficiencies, and value creation across the organization.
- Manage supplier relationships across the region, monitoring performance, and addressing any issues or concerns that arise.

Requirements:
Technical & Behavorial Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Category Manager or Indirect Sourcing manager, preferably in the food sector.
- Good communication skills at different levels.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to influence others positively without authority.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Transformational approach with service oriented skills.
- Professional proficiency level in English.
