Job Description


Mantrac Ghana LTD is hiring Health, Safety & Environment Officer.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Ensures all safety policies and practices are in line with Mantrac groups safety vision and principles
• Develop and implement HSE Plan
• Complete reports on incidents, risk and safety performance
• Develops, monitor and constantly improve health, safety and environment procedures for all operations
• Develops standard task procedures (SOP) for all operations
• Reviews safe working procedures as and when it becomes necessary
• Keeping an up to date record of all health, safety and environmental issues
• Carries out periodic and spontaneous planned inspections of all work areas
• Promotes the awareness of health, safety and environmental issues
• Investigates and reports all accidents and incidents
• Ensures staff attend and complete all mandatory health and safety courses
• Facilitates health and safety meetings and training courses for employees
• Implementation of live work elimination strategies on all operations
• Complete HSE monthly reports
• Complete monthly HSE and contamination control audit
• And any other assigned task

Qualification Required & Experience

• Candidate must have a BSc Degree in Engineering or Sciences or related qualification
• Candidate with NEBOSH certificate or diploma will be on added advantage
• Candidate must be a member of a relevant professional body (desirable)

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years post qualification in a Mining, Engineering or construction entity

Knowledge

Candidate must be knowledgeable in:

• Ghanaian safety and environment laws and statutes
• Risk assessment and how to conduct it.
• Accident investigations
• Health, safety and environmental statistics and its interpretation
• Hazardous substances and their management
• HSE inductions and how to organize and conduct HSE inductions
• Report writing

Skills

• Excellent technical HSE knowledge & skill
• Excellent communication skill
• Good negotiation skill
• Tenacity
• Self-motivated
• Good IT skills
