A Life insurance company is seeking a highly experienced and result-driven professional to fill the position of Head of Underwriting – Life.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the underwriting department to ensure effective risk assessment and policy issuance in line with company standards
• Evaluate and approve all insurance applications
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirement and internal risk framework.
• Provide training, guidance and performance management of the underwriting team
• Collaborate with actuaries, sales team to enhance underwriting processes and support business growth
• Monitor industry trends and recommend improvement to underwriting strategies and practices

Qualification Required & Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Business Administration or related field. A relevant professional certification is an added advantage
• A minimum off 8 years progressive experience in life insurance underwriting with at least 4 years in managerial/leadership role
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal abilities
