Job Description
A reputable Oil Marketing company seeks to employ a Head of IT who will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of IT policies, standards, infrastructural designs, systems applications and network security in line with international best practices to support the organisation’s business strategy.
Duties
• Set objectives and strategies for the IT department
• Select and implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits
• Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve customer experience
• Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and other staff within the organization
• Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers
• Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organisation to ensure optimal performance
• Direct and organise IT-related projects
• Monitor changes of advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage
• Analyse the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions
Qualification Required & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering from a recognized institution. A certificate in information technology is an added advantage
• 10+ years experience in the IT field with relevant certificates
• Proven experience in IT managerial role
• Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure especially Electronic Payment and Enterprise Resource Planning Systems
• Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation. Special knowledge in the cloud, data analytics, Develops, the internet of things and artificial intelligence is required
• Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations
• Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• A strong strategic and business mindset
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Applicants must have worked on ERP systems for a minimum of 5 years
