Job Description


The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) and the University of Cape Coast have agreed to implement the TAGDev 2.0 Programme in Ghana. The goal of TAGDev 2.0 is to ensure that Africa’s young people and their institutions drive inclusive, equitable, and climate-smart resilient socio-economic development in their societies. The RUFORUM is coordinating the programme for sponsorship from the MasterCard Foundation. The service agreement is to establish the Agri-food Systems and Entrepreneurship Center, (ASEC) which shall serve as TAGDev 2.0 Programme Coordinating Unit for the first phase of 5 years at the University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast, Ghana.

Job Title: Gender, wellness, and Careers officer

Employment type: Full-time Employment contract

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure gender and inclusion mainstreaming and proactive technical support to the organization on gender issues
• Plan, implement, and undertake follow-up on gender issues, wellness, and inclusion-related activities
• Provide technical support to the Programme coordinator and associate Programme officer in developing and executing gender mainstreaming, wellness, and inclusion plans
• Collaborative with the SPO Business Creation, Incubation and Jobs, PO Digital Economy Integration, and PO Business Development Services to develop strategies and implement actions for increasing the quality of students’ transitions to dignified and fulfilling work.
• Undertake gender mainstreaming activities
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports on gender, wellness, and inclusion services and initiatives and reports
• Launch and maintain gender, inclusion, and wellness mainstreaming initiatives.

Qualification Required & Experience

Requirements (Education, experience, technical competencies required of the job)

• Masters degree in gender, education, law, social administration, psychology and related fields
• At least 2 years working experience
• Experience working with young people
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding standards for young people
• Flexibility in working schedules and willingness to travel at short notice
