Job Description
Position: French Teacher
Location: East Legon Hills, Greater Accra Region, Ghana
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Language Instruction
- Teach French language skills including listening, speaking, reading, and writing at various proficiency levels.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the national curriculum.
- Curriculum Development & Assessment
- Design, prepare, and update instructional materials and resources tailored to student needs.
- Create and administer assessments, quizzes, and exams to evaluate students’ progress.
- Provide regular feedback to students and maintain records of performance.
- Classroom Management
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Encourage students’ participation, critical thinking, and cultural appreciation.
- Address student queries and learning difficulties effectively.
- Cultural Exposure & Enrichment
- Introduce students to Francophone cultures, literature, and traditions.
- Organize cultural activities, language clubs, or excursions to enhance practical language use.
- Professional Development & Collaboration
- Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and professional development training.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching strategies and learning outcomes.
- Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate attendance and grading records.
- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding student progress.
- Ensure adherence to school policies and educational standards.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Proficiency in French (native or fluent).
- Teaching certification or degree in French language, education, or related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
Passion for teaching and fostering a love for the French language.
