About The Role
DNV – Maritime Station Ghana is seeking a Ship Surveyor to join our Tema office.
As a “Fleet in Service” Ship Surveyor based in Tema, you will be a member of a highly qualified team of Ship & Offshore surveyors and auditors in Ghana. You may be expected to carry out surveys and audits in other West Africa countries on an ad hoc basis
- Ensure that the work or duties performed are in accordance with the rules, regulations, instructions, guidelines and quality requirements of the organization and the instructions of the line management.
- Maintain the confidentiality of clients’ business, processes, designs, developments and documentation
- Communicate to line management at the earliest appropriate opportunity if in receipt of information that is important to the reputation or integrity of the organization.
- Exhibit customer-oriented focus through promoting DNV onboard or on-site, and by acting as a technical resource for customer questions.

About You
- University degree (Naval Architect, Deck officers, Marine Engineer & electricians) / Master mariner or Chief engieer of ocean going vessels from a recognized University
- Min. 3 years of experience in maritime business
- Self-disciplined and continuous learner
- Adequate physical fitness in order to perform regular functions on the job, e.g. climbing pilot ladders & tanks, crew boat launches, voyage surveys.
- English proficiency both in speaking and writing
- Flexibility in traveling is required
- Availability outside normal working hours if the job requires
- Able to work independently on surveys.
- Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job: Climbing pilot ladders & in/out of tanks and confined spaces; crew boat launches in various local climate condition.
