Job Description


Temple is a leading firm in the investment banking sector in Ghana, committed to delivering innovative financial solutions in capital markets, fund management and private equity to our clients. We operate at the forefront of investment banking, and we are committed to maintaining the highest standards finance for our operations. Our team is at the heart of our success, and we are currently seeking a detail-oriented and diligent Finance Officer to join our Finance and Operations team.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Finance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the financial management of Temple. You will be responsible for overseeing various financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial information to support decision-making. This role requires a strong understanding of financial principles, attention to detail, and excellent analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Prepare budget.
  • Monitor budget performance and variance analysis, identifying areas of concern and proposing corrective actions.
  • Conduct financial forecasting to support strategic planning and resource allocation decisions.

3. Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Manage accounts payable processes, including processing invoices, verifying expenses, and making payments in a timely manner.
  • Oversee accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions and ensure compliance with payment terms.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable and maintain accurate financial records and statements.

4. Financial Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and implement necessary changes to policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation.

5. Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct financial analysis to assess the financial health and performance of the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and efficiency improvements.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Assist in financial review of our investment banking transactions.

6. Cash Management:

  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity position, ensuring adequate funds are available to meet operational needs.
  • Develop cash flow forecasts and manage cash reserves effectively.
  • Optimize cash management processes to minimize idle cash and maximize returns on investments.

7. Internal Controls:

  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Review and update financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and efficiency.
  • Conduct periodic audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

 A professional certification (ICA or ACCA) is a mandatory requirement for this role.

 At least three years of experience in a finance role, preferably in the financial services industry.

 Completion of Ghana Securities Industry course is highly advantageous.

 Strong knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and accounting standards.

 Proven experience in financial analysis, operations management, or related roles.

 Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modelling, data analysis, and statistical tools.

 Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other data analysis software.

Skills

 Proficiency in financial software and systems, such as QuickBooks Online.

 Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

 Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

 Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner.

 Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

 Strong organizational and time management skills.
