Job Description


Position: Finance and Administrative Manager
Location: East Legon

Reports to: Chief Operations Officer

Role Summary:

A reputable Hospital is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and detail-oriented Finance and Administrative Officer to lead its Finance and Admin functions. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, a solid background in accounting and finance, and a hands-on approach to administration and operations support.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance & Accounting Duties:

Oversee all financial operations of the hospital.
Prepare weekly, monthly financial reports and management accounts for decision-making.
Develop and manage hospital budgets, forecasts, and cost-control systems.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of payroll.
Lead and coordinate statutory and internal audits.
Maintain up-to-date accounting records and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Liaise with banks, insurance partners, and external auditors.
Ensure timely invoicing, claims submission, receivables tracking, and reconciliations with NHIS/private insurers.
Monitor expenditures and identify variances from budget, providing insight and recommendations.
Administrative Duties:

Supervise and manage the performance of the finance and administrative team.
Ensure that the hospital’s procurement and asset management systems are followed.
Oversee staff records, leave schedules, and contracts in collaboration with HR.
Ensure smooth daily administration including logistics, maintenance, and supplies management.
Lead the development and implementation of internal controls and policies.
Support compliance with health and labor laws and institutional standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (ACCA, CA, or CIMA certification preferred).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance and administration, preferably in a healthcare environment.
Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally, etc.),MS Excel and Power Point.
Strong understanding of Ghanaian tax laws, SSNIT, and statutory compliance.
Ability to lead a team, multitask under pressure, and communicate effectively.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
