Job Description
AsanSka University College of Design and Technology (AUCDT) is a Private University College in Ghana affiliated with the University of Education – Winneba and accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). AUCDT aims to become an internationally reputable center for Design Education and Research. The college offers diverse programs in design disciplines such as BA Jewellery Design Technology, BTech Digital Media and Communication Design, BTech Fashion Design Technology, and BA Product Design and Entrepreneurship.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Fashion Design Lecturer based in Accra.
- The Fashion Design Lecturer will be responsible for delivering lectures, tutorials, and practical studio sessions in garment construction, pattern drafting, draping, and industrial sewing techniques.
- The role involves developing and updating course materials, syllabi, and assessing student progress, and contributing to the academic and creative development of the fashion design program.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of fashion history and trends
- Experience in pattern making, garment construction, and draping
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design software
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to mentor and guide students in their creative and academic pursuits
- Experience in the fashion industry and/or teaching fashion design
- Minimum of an MPhil in Fashion Design or M-Tech in Fashion Design with at least one year of proven research work. A PhD, or evidence of progresd towards one, will be an advantage.
