Job Description
The Role: We are looking for an Experienced HVAC/R Technician with strong practical experience and a passion for mentoring the next generation. This dual-role position combines:
• Technical project work with CETECH Ghana (installation, servicing, refrigeration, controls, etc.), and
• Teaching/training responsibilities at IPES Ghana, delivering technical programs from basic to advanced levels.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional who enjoys both fieldwork and shaping future technicians through technical education.

Experience Level:
• Mid to Senior Experience Level
Key Responsibilities
• Technical / Field Work (CETECH Ghana)
• Install, service, and maintain HVAC/R systems (residential, commercial, industrial)
• Troubleshoot AC, refrigeration, ductwork, and control system faults
• Handle refrigerants safely and comply with EPA/Ghana standards
• Support HVAC/R design, drafting, and system layout where applicable
• Work with rooftop units, chillers, cold rooms, and automation systems
• Interpret blueprints, pressure-temperature charts, and system wiring diagrams
• Mentor junior technicians and support quality and safety on job sites
• Teaching / Training (IPES Ghana)
Deliver practical and theoretical instruction in:
• HVAC/R Trainee & Maintenance Programs (3–6 months)
• Emergency HVAC/R Troubleshooting & Safety (9 months)
• Refrigeration Systems, Residential & Commercial HVAC, Controls, System Design (1–2 years)
Additional responsibilities:
• Prepare lesson plans, hands-on activities, and technical assessments
• Train students on tools, safety procedures, and diagnostic techniques
• Provide ongoing assessment, guidance, and practical evaluation
• Contribute to curriculum development and support TVET accreditation requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
• TVET HND or Bachelor’s Degree in HVAC/R, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on HVAC/R experience, including residential, commercial, or industrial systems
• At least 1–2 years of experience in teaching, mentoring, or on-the-job training
• Solid understanding of HVAC safety procedures and refrigerant handling
• Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of airflow, control systems, and system performance
• Ability to read technical drawings, wiring schematics, and system documentation
Preferred:
• Certification in refrigerant recovery/handling (e.g., EPA 608 or Ghana equivalent)
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS), controls, or PLCs
• Familiarity with HVAC design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)
• Prior experience in a TVET or technical education environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
