Job Description


Responsibilities

• Provide oversight responsibility for all operations within GILLBT, including the spiritual and strategic corporate direction for the organization and compliance with all local and international statutory requirements
• Organise and chair Executive Leadership Team (ELT) meetings
• Undertake appraisals for the Heads of Directorates
• Develop policy proposals and carry out strategic planning for the organization and ensure that strategic plans are regularly reviewed, updated and implemented and develop and monitor the organization’s annual corporate budget and workplan
• Lead resource mobilization (fundraising)
• Attend international Bible translation organisations meetings i.e Wycliffe Bible Translation, SIL international and any other international conferences as invited
• Maintain and manage relationships and communication with strategic partners, e.g donors, churches, universities, government agencies etc
• Act as the GILLBT’s representative in all interactions with individual donors, churches, government bodies and other institutions in the country
• Represent the GILLBT to partner organisations and stakeholders in Ghana and abroad, including attending international bible translation organisations meetings and other international conferences on behalf of the GILLBT
• Lead implementations of language policies, visting and strengthening language projects, and providing leadership in consultant development

Qualification Required & Experience

• Master’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years of work experience at the Managerial level
• Ability to manage people and projects in cross-cultural settings
• Should be a Bible believing Christian
• Willingness to live and work in both Tamale and Accra
• Ability to work long hours with minimum supervision
• Have a firm understanding of and experience working in the NGO context, especially the Christian one, in both the international and the local environment
• Ability to maintain relationships with all the GILLBT stakeholders and develop new ones
• Strong written and spoken communication skills

Supervisory Roles:

• Reports directly to the Board of Directors

• Director for Field Programme Department
• Director for Operations Department
• Director for advancement Department
• Director for finance Department

Location: Accra
