Role Overview

As the Executive Associate, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to the CEO when it comes to managing the company. You will blossom in this role if you would like to learn how to build a high-growth business and thrive in entrepreneurial environments.

Your experience

  • BSc Degree from a leading African or foreign tertiary institution
  • 2-4 years of working experience, with focus on African private sector and gained experience in senior stakeholder management
  • Experience in start-up work is a big plus
  • You love organizing and problem-solving things
  • Experience in managing a team and upward management
  • Excellent written communication skills to develop PowerPoint presentations and short reports with minimal supervision
  • Strong entrepreneurial skills and “can do” attitude
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, supported by team members

Your responsibilities

Personal assistance to the CEO

  • Provide sophisticated calendar management for CEO; prioritize inquiries and requests while troubleshooting conflicts; make judgements and recommendations to ensure smooth day-to-day engagements
  • Cover for CEO in meetings where she cannot be present to collect information and share initial direction as needed
  • Assist the CEO with social media management
  • Prepare presentations and speaking points for speaker roles at events

Secretary to the Board

  • Attend all board meetings of the company and prepare minutes of such board meetings
  • Prepare and circulate agendas for board meetings
  • Lead the content preparation of board meetings
  • Write and administer all board resolutions

Strategy implementation

  • Track the implementation of objectives and key results across the organization
  • Prepare team meetings to assess progress against strategy
  • Help with the research and implementation of new strategic opportunities (e.g. country expansion)

Research and analysis

  • Support with ad-hoc analyses on company performance as and when needed
  • Prepare regular internal newsletters with latest trends in the industry
  • Track activity of peers in the market
