Job Description


Position: Elementary School Teacher
Location: East Legon Hills, Greater Accra Region, Ghana

Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated elementary school teacher to provide highquality education to our students, fostering intellectual, social,  and emotional growth in a nurturing   classroom environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Instruction and Lesson Planning:
    • Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans in line with the Maple Bear curriculum.
    • Use diverse teaching strategies to address varying learning styles and abilities.
  2. Classroom Management:
    • Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment.
    • Implement classroom rules and encourage respectful behaviour                             amongst students.
  3. Student Assessment and Feedback:
    • Evaluate students’ progress through assignments, tests, and observations.
    • Provide constructive feedback to promote academic improvement.
  4. Individual Support and Mentorship:
    • Identify students’ individual learning needs and provide additional                      support where needed.
    • Nurture students’ social and emotional development alongside academic growth.
  5. Communication with Parents and Guardians:
    • Maintain regular communication with parents regarding students’                        progress and concerns.
    • Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events.
  6. Professional Development:
    • Stay current with best practices in elementary education and apply                         innovative teaching techniques.
    • Attend workshops, training sessions, and staff meetings.
  7. School Duties and Extracurricular Activities:
    • Supervise students during meals, recess, and field trips, ensuring their  safety.
    • Lead or support school clubs, activities, and events to promote holistic learning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant field.
  • Valid teaching certification and Licence.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for child-centred learning.
