Job Description


Generation Global is the Tony Blair Institute’s global citizenship education programme. It enables young people to embrace the future, equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become active, global and open-minded citizens. The Generation Global programme has been running since 2009. It has supported over 593,000 young people and trained over 15,000 teachers from more than 30 countries in the skills of intercultural dialogue.Our training programmes are focused on educators in both formal and in-formal settings, ranging from secondary teachers in government and private schools, to community leaders and volunteers. Generation Global offers both in-person and virtual workshops that are highly interactive and experiential to support educators in learning dialogue theory and practice. Trainings involve the educator learning both knowledge of dialogic skills while practicing the same activities they would be expected to facilitate with learners. Train the trainer sessions may also be offered to support capacity building within learning communities and to aid youth leaders in collaborating with their peers.Job Introduction
Overview
The Generation Global programme is expanding globally and demand for training in teaching dialogue skills is increasing from schools and not for profit partners. We therefore seek a cadre of passionate, experienced and qualified part time education trainers to join our Education and Quality team to deliver in person and online training in the skills of dialogue in core growth countries, specifically in Indonesia, India, Ghana and Rwanda.The Education Trainer/s will report to the Education and Quality Lead and will facilitate quality learning experiences to support educators in teaching the skills of dialogue to young people. They will be responsible for delivering workshops and webinars both online and in-person (locally and internationally within the above core countries and potentially across regions) as needed, focused on intercultural communication concepts and practices including the pedagogy and skills of dialogue, instructional strategies for creating virtual exchange opportunities and global online communities, and special topic specific webinars and events for teacher professional development.Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver teacher workshops, information sessions and webinars via online platforms and/or in-person; must have the ability to confidently present and teach across various regions and contexts
  • Collaborate on and deliver training materials for educators and leaders, often in consultation with partner schools and organisations
  • Ensure all training content and delivery aligns with the goals, values, and indicators of the Generation Global programme
  • Facilitate educator video conferences to share and explore relevant topics for professional development
  • Participate in meetings and processes for reflecting on educator trainings

Person Specification

  • Background in education, teacher training, and/or group facilitation
  • Experience facilitating interactive workshops with educators in global citizenship education
  • Global competencies including communication and collaboration
  • Knowledge and experience in Global Citizenship Education
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in diverse environments
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and be adaptable, in response to changing situations on the ground, across a variety of time zones
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility
  • Availability to travel in the countries specified above and internationally to deliver training, as required
  • Fluent in English, second language preferable

Timeline:
