Job Description


Job Location: Western North and all cocoa-growing regions, including Ashanti, Western, Eastern, and Central Regions.

In your role as District Commercial Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing hub and warehouse operations within the assigned district. The role ensures smooth execution of purchases, proper inventory control, compliance with Warc Africa’s policies, and strong relationships with farmers and stakeholders. This role is key in achieving Warc Africa’s purchasing targets and maintaining the organization’s credibility in the cocoa value chain.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Hub & Warehouse Operations

  • Supervise operations across the district’s hubs and warehouse.
  • Execute commodity purchases at the warehouse level, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper documentation of all purchases and movements.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the Area Commercial Coordinator to replenish supplies when necessary.

2. Commodity Purchasing

  • Lead purchasing activities within the warehouse and assigned hubs.
  • Ensure transparent pricing and adherence to company policies and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Support efforts of the hubs to meet daily, weekly, and monthly purchase targets.

3. Farmer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, purchasing clerks (PCs), COCOBOD/QCC officers, and Licensed Buying Companies (LBCs)/District Managers (DMs).
  • Act as Warc Africa’s representative in the community to build trust and strengthen relationships with stakeholders.
  • Collect farmer feedback and share insights with the Area Coordinator to improve services and address local issues.

4. Reporting & Communication

  • Submit daily reports to the Area Commercial Coordinator, including: total purchases vs. target for the day; key learnings and findings from the field; and local news and announcements affecting operations.
  • Escalate operational challenges to the Area Commercial Coordinator promptly for resolution.

5. Compliance & Accountability

  • Ensure adherence to Warc Africa’s financial, operational, and safety policies within the hubs and warehouse.
  • Safeguard all company’s assets and resources under your care.
  • Maintain high standards of accountability, integrity, and professionalism at all times.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Supply Chain, Rural Development, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commodity purchasing, warehouse management, or rural/agricultural operations.
  • Direct supervisory experience, including managing workforce in high-paced environments.
  • Strong understanding of both large and smallholder farming dynamics and rural community mobilization.
  • Ability to speak local languages (e.g., Fanti, Akuapem, Twi, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Strong skills in record-keeping, inventory management, and basic accounting.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Have a license to operate a motorcycle in Ghana (or willingness to get one).
  • Willingness and ability to live and work in rural environments.
