About This Role

  • To support the enhancement of the company’s brand, visibility, and reputation by aligning internal and key external stakeholders with the company’s business objectives and priorities, through the development and execution of strategic and integrated visual communications. The position will contribute to the department’s mission of enhancing Newmont’s visual presence through high-quality visual communications for both internal and external audiences.

In This Role You Will

Communications Operations

  • Plan, direct and execute multi-faceted communication campaigns based on internal and external communication needs.
  • Provide advanced levels of design for all formal communication content, including designs for collaterals, videos, social media, web and data visualization, in accordance with Newmont’s brand guidelines.
  • Serve as the principal brand and content design officer for the Hub and provide design communication guidance to national service personnel.
  • Translate complex data into high-impact visual communication and creative projects for various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the print and production of all creative content and ensure finished work meets quality and branding standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure consistent branding across all functions and departments.
  • Produce multimedia content to support communication across internal and external channels, including events, executive communication, press materials, digital properties, social channels, and social media.
  • Work closely with the Communications Officers and Communication Leads on best approaches to strategic communication channels using visual communication techniques and products.
  • Design and produce templates, infographics, dashboards, brochures, posters, interactive media, and other data visualization that engage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement approaches to visual expressions that help communicate and demonstrate the significance and impacts to departmental operations.
  • Identify tools requirements, manage inventory, and ensure maintenance of communication hardware and software required for production and visual asset management.
  • Create and adhere to quality assurance and best practices in data visualization and graphic design.
  • Collaborate with other divisions to identify and research available data sources.

Brand and Stakeholder Management

  • Support the development and implementation of the company’s brand strategy.
  • Support development and implementation of Newmont’s brand audit process.
  • Support the Communications team to plan and organize internal and external stakeholder engagement programmes for the Business Unit.

Document Management and Research

  • Work closely with the Communications Officer to manage and maintain Communications documents for the Africa-Canada Business Unit on Discovery, SharePoint, and other channels.
  • Ensure all creative content and documents (internal presentations, factsheets, photo images and video libraries) are archived in an organized manner.
  • Assist in developing and executing communications metrics and cost-effective measurement framework to assess effectiveness and impact of external communications efforts.
  • Support measurement of communications programme outcomes and align reporting to track progress against the measurements.

Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist

Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in graphic design, multimedia/ audiovisual communications, or media arts or a related field demonstrating the capacity for the required knowledge.

Experience

  • Five years of professional experience in data visualization and/or graphic design work.
  • Working knowledge of best practices in graphic design.
  • Working knowledge and experience in corporate documentary and video production.
  • Working ability to create infographics and data dashboards in data visualization software applications.
  • Proficient at using Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign and Lightroom.

Technical Skills

  • Outstanding creative and visual presentation skills with proficient skills in layout and graphic design principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with employees at all levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop digital content for a broad and diverse audiences.
  • Skilled at translating broad and complex ideas and concepts to clear and compelling communications.
  • Ability to build consensus around content presentations, treatments, scripts, and tactics.
  • Ability to multi-task, handling volumes of information and working under strict timelines.
  • Attention to detail; is resourceful, responsible, and possesses a strong work ethic.
  • Values collaboration, trust, and creativity in every aspect of work.
  • Utilize resources and time efficiently through balancing and prioritizing multiple activities.
  • Demonstrates continuous improvement while seeking out opportunities; makes suggestions and partners with team members to achieve efficiencies.

  • The position is located at our Accra Regional Hub and Ahafo North Mine Site.
