Job Description
The Data Analyst will be responsible for undertaking data collection, pre-processing and analysis as well as building models to address business problems. He/she will be required to present information using data visualization techniques and support the delivery of accurate, insightful and timely analysis into the performance of the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with team members to ensure that there is continuity of reports and processes even in the absence of other team members
- Provide support to the team in analysing business performance
- Provide support in the delivery of value added reports to the business using available BI tools
- Provide analytics and insights to the business on consumer behaviour /usage and the impact of network performance on service revenue
- Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
- Undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data
- Analyse large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
- Combine models through ensemble modeling
- Present information using data visualization techniques
- Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams
Qualification and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
- Prior experience in the telecoms industry (an advantage but not required)
- Knowledge of revenue streams within the telecoms industry (an advantage but not a requirement)
- Must have strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving abilities
- Must love numbers
- Must possess excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge of R, SQL and Python;
- Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) and databases
- Constructively challenge and assist CVM, EVM and the new Product development teams with data and insights to manage customer base, reduce churn and develop exciting products
- Design, automate and disseminate interactive business dashboards to generate actionable insights
- Must show initiative and anticipate the needs of the team and work proactively to deliver the necessary support
