To gather and analyze data and search for patterns and connections that will be translated into actionable business strategies. To assist the Group to define metrics to evaluate success, priorities and drive the analyses to understand how the group is tracking against them, and turn the results into compelling recommendations to guide product, services and the business roadmap.

Key Accountabilities

• Uses data to identify problems, understand causes, and recommend resolutions; execute ad-hoc requests for data insights
• Defines metrics that should be tracked and take ownership over ensuring the right data to power these metrics is clean, available, and well-structured by managing database design
• Defines and conducts tests to validate that data is fit for purpose and that remediation calculations are correct and accurate
• Continuous generation, monitoring, presenting and conducting of ‘fact-based’ analysis of relevant insights to use at any time for the development and improvement of relevant and innovative solutions
• Generates, monitors, presents and analyses relevant insights, costs, benefits, and risks for the Group; this could include business casing, what if scenarios and opportunity sizing & assessments
• Creates and maintains documentation including requirements and project plans
• Ensures timely completion of major financial deliverables, regular periodic analysis of data and regular periodic presentation of data and analyses to country and regional management.
• Works with country and regional management teams to integrate financial data into programme planning, programme reporting, and decision making processes
• Tracks, analyses, visualizes and communicates key metrics to management
• Supports the continuous improvement of Letshego’s reporting framework, suggests new perspectives and educates business stakeholders
• Conducts insightful analysis using a multitude of data (e.g. user, revenue, product, market, industry)
• Liaises with senior stakeholders to drive informed business decisions

Minimum Job Requirements

Academic Requirements

• Degree in a quantitative field: Statistics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent
• Experience in: Excel, Python and Power BI

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience

• In depth knowledge of manipulating many and large data sets
• Evidenced knowledge of statistics, i.e. confidence intervals, linear regression, and hypothesis testing ·
• Familiarity with survey data, software, and methods ·
• Deep understanding of data warehousing, data structures ·
• Knowledge of Asset and Liability Management is advantageous
• A minimum of 3 years in an analyst role within financials services
• Ability to express complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences · 6Organised and analytical with the ability to create, manage, and prioritise projects ·
• Strong SQL skills · Data-driven storytelling and visualisation skills (with tools like Tableau, PowerBI, Metabase, Excel ect) ·
• Attention to detail ·
• Experience coding in Python and in analytical databases
