Job Description
Role Summary
• The Cyber and Network Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding the organization’s information systems, network infrastructure and digital assets against cyber threats
Job Responsibilities
Prioritised responsibilities of the cyber and network security officer include the following:
• Design, implement and maintain secure network architecture (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, NAC, wireless security)
• Configure and manage security devices such as FortiGate firewalls, routers, switches ad intrusion prevention systems
• Respond to and manage cybersecurity incidents, including analysis, containment, eradication and recovery
• Conduct proactive threat detection, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
• Generate reports on network health, incident trends, and security posture for management
• Provide guidance on secure system usage and emerging threats (e.g phishing, ransomware).
• Monitor network traffic and security logs to detect anormalies and potential threats
Qualification Required & Experience
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant network administration and cybersecurity operations
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field
Preferred relevant certifications are:
o Security+: CEH, CISSP, CISM or CISA
o Network Security: CCNA Security, Fortinent NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE
o Cloud/Other: Microsoft SC-200, AWS/Azure Security certifications
