Job Description
Assurance Micro-Credit Enterprise is looking for a results-driven and analytical Credit Officer to join our team. If you have a sharp eye for financial risk and a passion for portfolio management, we want to hear from you.
The Role
As a Credit Officer, you will manage the full credit cycle—from assessing new loan applications to overseeing the recovery of funds. Your goal is to grow a healthy loan portfolio while minimizing institutional risk.
Key Responsibilities
1. Credit Assessment & Approval
● Review loan applications for accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
● Analyze financial statements and business plans to determine borrower creditworthiness.
● Recommend loan approvals or declines based on risk appetite.
● Structure loan terms and pricing to effectively mitigate risks.
2. Portfolio & Risk Management
● Monitor existing loans to ensure healthy asset quality and timely repayments.
● Identify and assess credit risks, enforcing lending caps and limits.
● Prepare reports on key metrics (delinquency rates, loan aging, and NPLs).
● Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and capital adequacy standards.
3. Recovery & Collections
● Implement effective strategies to minimize exposure to bad debts.
● Manage delinquent accounts and communicate with borrowers to prevent default.
● Oversee legal and administrative processes for loan recovery when necessary.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
● Build relationships with clients, auditors, and regulators.
● Provide strategic insights to management regarding portfolio growth and new products.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
● Successful loan portfolio growth and performance.
● Maintenance of low delinquency and non-performing loan (NPL) ratios.
● Timely and accurate loan disbursements and recoveries.
● Full compliance with internal and regulatory reporting.
Qualifications & Requirements
● Education: Minimum of a Diploma, HND, or Degree in a relevant field.
● Skills: Strong financial analysis, communication, and relationship management skills.
● Experience: Experience in lending, debt recovery, or banking is an advantage.
Compensation
● Base Salary: 1,000
● Commission: 0.7% commission on both disbursements and collections.
