Job Description
Our client, a household brand and a leader in the financial services industry, seeks to employ an experienced and suitably qualified Ghanaians for the position of Corporate Affairs Director for the Group.
Reporting to the Group CEO, the incumbent will be responsible for formulating corporate affairs strategies for the Group; and guiding the achievement of those strategies in order to build trust as well as protect and enhance the Group’s reputation.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Affairs and Communications Strategy: In alignment with the Group’s business strategy, lead the strategy for managing key priority topics that enable the Group to protect and grow the business and brands and also contribute to a positive reputation for the Group.
Policy and Communications: Develop and implement, in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders’, policies and communications that are needed to drive the business.
Issues and Crisis Management: Ensure issues and crisis management practices and processes are in place to manage the business and brand reputation proactively.
Change management communications: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver change management communications for the Group.
Public Affairs: Be the Group’s chief lobbyist on issues that matter to the business and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
Public Relations: Lead the development of PR plans for the Group in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and ensure measurement programs are in place for continuous improvement.
Scorecards: Develop implementation plans and scorecards to monitor performanc Ensure that commitments and policies regarding corporate affairs are implemented throughout the Group in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Collaboration: Work in partnership with internal/external communications colleagues to ensure that the Group’s policies and communications meet business goals, anticipate stakeholder opinions and ensure they are coordinated with other activities.
Relationships: Develop relationships with key stakeholders, such as NGOs, industry working groups, government and media, and the Groups associates to deliver a supported strategy and initiatives on sustainability issues of mutual interest.
Media: Be the official media spokesperson for the Group.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualification, Skills, Knowledge & Experience
· Master’s Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related discipline.
· Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in strategic communications, media relations and/or public affairs for a major organization
· Highly developed knowledge of public and community relations.
· Extensive media experience.
· Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
· Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills
· Solid crisis and change management experience
· Highly developed knowledge of risk and stakeholder management.
· Effective reputation management and event planning experience.
· Excellent team player with experience working in multi-disciplinary groups
