The Mampong Technical College of Education hereby announces the vacancy for the position of College Finance Officer. Applications are hereby invited from interested and suitably qualified person to fill the vacancy.

Job Description

• The College Finance Officer shall be the Chief Accounting Officer of the College and the Chief Financial Advisor to the Principal
• He/She has general responsibility for the administration of the financial affairs of the college that will ensure its financial health and he/she exercises direct superintendence over all accounting officers
• He/she is responsible for collecting all legitimate revenue due to the college
• He/She exercises control over expenditure in line with the college’s objectives and budgets
• He/she has the duty of preparing the annual budget of the college for presentation to the appropriate governing body for approval and implementation
• He/she is also responsible for ensuring that the financial statements of the college are drawn up in accordance with the law establishing the colleges, the statutes, applicable accounting standards and all other regulations approval by the college as well as the appointed external auditors to get the college’s financial statements audited

Qualification Required & Experience

• He/She must hold a Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance plus a professional qualification. He/She must have served as a Deputy Finance Officer in a college of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution /organisation for at least 4 years
• He/She must be member of a recognised professional accountancy body
• In addition he / she must be analytical, critical, result-oriented, innovative and visionary and possess hands-on ability to work independently.
• He/She must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills, be a good team player, possess strong IT skills and be familiar with accounting software
• He/She must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and possess proactive commercial flair

Tenure of Office

The appointment, which is full-time shall be for years in the first instance, and may be renewed for a further term of 4 years subject to satisfactory performance
