JOB VACANCY: CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER

Accra Markets Limited Company, a reputable commercial facility company and owner/operator of the Kaneshie Market Complex, seeks to recruit a qualified, result-oriented candidate for the position of Chief Security Officer.

MAIN JOB FUNCTION / OBJECTIVE

Responsible for implementing and managing all the company’s safety and security strategies, programs, and procedures to ensure the protection of life and assets, as well as the maintenance of peace and order within the market complex.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute comprehensive security policies, operational plans, and access control strategies for the market.
• Coordinate, supervise, and ensure continuous training, discipline, and professionalism among all security personnel.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, monitor CCTV surveillance systems, and implement preventative measures against theft or breach.
• Liaise with state security agencies (Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, etc.) and key stakeholders on market security and emergency protocols.
• Keep car parks, walkways, and access routes clear of unauthorized hawkers and squatters, enforcing tenant compliance with market rules.
• Investigate security breaches, apprehend offenders for police handover, attend court proceedings, and present incident reports to Management.
• Ensure fire-fighting equipment, hydrants, and backup safety infrastructure are systematically serviced and operational.
• Advise Management on security matters affecting market operations and execute any additional duties assigned by the Managing Director.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Educational Qualification:

Minimum of WASSCE / SSSCE / G.C.E. ‘O’ Level OR a Polytechnic Diploma/HND in a relevant field.

Background & Experience:

• Deep practical knowledge of commercial facility security, asset protection, and crowd control.
• Retired Security Personnel from the Public Services (Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces, Prisons, Fire Service, Immigration, etc.) or established Private Security Firms are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Minimum of 5–8 years of practical security experience, with demonstrated capability in a supervisory or leadership role.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership, physical alertness, communication, and conflict management capabilities.
• Basic computer literacy for drafting administrative reports and monitoring electronic security systems.
• High integrity, discipline, firmness, and ability to perform effectively under high-pressure environments.

REMUNERATION

Salary: GHs 4,500.00 per month.
