Job Summary

• To develop and provide strategic direction for the Home (Fixed Broadband) business to ensure financial viability and sustainability.
• This role has oversight responsibilities of all the operations of Fixed Broadband Profit & lost by driving end to end commercial activities including the Sales, Marketing ,Customer Services activities and will also be primarily involved in Network Planning, Technology Support, Financial Planning and Accounting, Stakeholders Management as well as the overall Broadband Implementation covering MBB, fixed wireless segment of the project and FTTx (Fiber to the Home/Office).

Key Tasks:

• Drive increase in Shareholder return by ensuring that Fixed Broadband Processes are aligned to achieve all elements on the business score card. (E.g. Grow Market Share, Grow ICT & Data Revenue, Increase EBITDA margins, Assure Revenue, CAPEX Returns Management and Net Subscriber Additions).
• Champion/Sponsor review of Business Processes (headcount, process optimization, business optimization etc.), to drive efficiency gains to ensure an agreed % reduction in Divisional budget year-on-year.
• Develop frameworks, policies, and procedures to guide all Fixed Broadband operations and enable the division to provide high quality services to customers and attain set goals and objectives.
• Champion Contract negotiations to reduce cost and drive MTN’s Value Creation Philosophy
• Assess resource requirements for the department and develop budget for the fixed broadband function and regularly monitor resources of the department ensuring they are allocated and utilized in a cost effective and financially disciplined manner and in line with budget provisions.
• Identify viable business opportunities and trends with strong supporting business case imperative to outputs, strategic business and industry-related research and analysis.
• Extract value from what we already have through focused enterprise-wide activities such as: business optimization projects, contracts review and negotiation, capital/budget efficiency activities etc.
• Innovation – identifying and taking advantage of new business opportunities at the enterprise-level e.g. new business opportunities, products launched, product/process innovation, structural changes etc.
• Maintain leadership in the ICT/Digital industry by influencing national legislations & policies, participating in national/industry think-tanks, building & extending (inter) national B-2-B and similar relationships, etc.
• Enhance/expand MTN’s role in the national and global economy/ecosystem through participation as a thought leader, executing national CSR projects, engaging in (inter) national non-ICT policy & think-tank activities, data analysis etc.
• Regularly monitor and review resources of the business ensuring they are allocated and utilized in a cost effective and financially disciplined manner and in line with budget provisions.
• Support the sale of complex and customized Broadband solutions in Home and SME customer organizations (consultative-based selling) by developing effective counterpart relationships
• Establish management processes and systems with appropriate checks and balances and drive alignment of all stakeholders to ensure that Fixed Broadband Division meets EBITDA targets.
• Proffer recommendations on relevant metrics and measures to routinely monitor progress against targets and take appropriate managerial action to ensure targets are met or exceeded and also use to support management decision-making at executive management level ExCom)
• Regularly review Fixed Broadband activities and trends in the market with a view to providing the team with new ideas or methods that will increase sales, prospect customers, and develop new business opportunities.
• Continuously review and confirm metrics and measures with a view to maximizing operational efficiencies and effectiveness and support management decision-making.
• Identify business risks, critical issues and determine appropriate risk mitigation plans covering the short- to long-term horizon in respect of consumer Fixed Broadband.
• Oversee the implementation of an effective warehousing/distribution system and ensure efficiency in controlling the flow of products across the business while realizing cost savings.
• Ensure new subscribers’ acquisition and Sales of both Home and Office Broadband propositions.
• End to end oversight of the fixed broadband activities from activation to onboarding of new customers.
• Drive Channel development and management, Partner management / Support.
• Develop and implement plans to ensure device availability and deepen the penetration of Home and Office Broadband propositions.
• Ensure reduction in Customer Churn and deepen customer loyalty.

Qualification Required & Experience

Education:

• A Postgraduate degree in Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or any Social Science.

Experience:

• Minimum of 12 years experience within a reputable and structured business environment
• Senior management track record of 5 years or more; with at least 3 years in relevant sector/ industry as per relevant role
• Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise (understanding emerging markets advantageous)
• Business development/Sales experience in a Telecommunication, FMCG environment, Services industry/Logistics environment
• Worked across diverse cultures and geographies.
• Business performance and financial analysis
• Experience in developing performance metrics
