Job Description


Summary

•We are seeking a highly skilled Business Manager to serve as the strategic liaison between our new Glass Project and all external stakeholders, including government agencies, traditional authorities, utility providers, and local communities. The primary goal is to secure the legal, social, and operational foundations of the factory, ensuring smooth infrastructure integration and full regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage land transfer procedures for Stool Lands and private lands, liaising with the Lands Commission to ensure the legality of leaseholds and title registrations.
•Build and maintain high-level relationships with the Traditional Council and local Chiefs; proactively resolve disputes regarding boundaries, compensation, or construction impact.
•Coordinate local labor requirements and manage community expectations to mitigate risks of protests or disruptions during the construction phase.
•Secure and maintain the social license to operate through ongoing community engagement.
•Lead negotiations and progress tracking with GRIDCo/ECG for high-voltage grid connection and with GWCL for industrial water supply.
•Secure gas sourcing and infrastructure by coordinating with GNPC and Ghana Gas, including oversight of gas station construction and price agreement negotiations.
•Oversee local contractors for site leveling and the construction of essential access roads.
•Manage registration with GIPC and apply for quotas to secure customs duty exemptions for imported machinery and equipment.
•Coordinate clearance of large-scale industrial equipment at Tema or Takoradi ports; resolve disputes with GRA-Customs regarding inspections and duty rates.
•Lead the application process with GFZB to secure Free Zone status and relevant tax benefits where applicable.
•Secure and renew all necessary permits, including EPA (Environmental), GSA (Standards), GNFS (Fire Service), and District Assembly building permits.
•Act as the primary point of contact for GIS (Immigration) and Police Service; handle external inspections and maintain a secure operating environment.
•Manage crisis response and security coordination with relevant authorities.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

•Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in large-scale industrial, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects within Ghana.
•In-depth knowledge of Ghanaian government administrative processes and the Land Act.
•Proven, existing communication channels within Customs (GRA), Lands Commission, ECG/GRIDCo, or relevant energy sectors.
•Full professional proficiency in English.
•High-level diplomatic skills, strong negotiation capabilities, and the ability to navigate complex social hierarchies.
•Ability to speak or understand Twi or other local dialects (significant advantage for community and labor relations).
•Experience with Free Zone applications and management.
•Familiarity with glass manufacturing or heavy industrial projects.
